2012 and Beyond Task Force
"Good Shepherd will celebrate 20 years of ministry and service in 2012. The Board of Directors is planning to appoint a task force for the purpose of developing a future vision to be brought to the voters during 2008. The vision will incorporate future plans for our property, facilities, and programs (i.e. Education, Preschool, Outreach, Inreach, and Ministry)." - from the November 2007 voters assembly meeting minutes
Welcome to the 2012 and Beyond Task Force web page! Please take the time to consider the materials presented to the members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to date on this important project.

OUR VISION, OUR MISSION, AND OUR CORE VALUES
The spirit behind all these efforts is to find the best way to serve the living God we worship, the working out of his believer's faith, and the spreading of the good news. Our church has many times taken the effort of determining our purpose and core values. These statements are found at the link below.
This round of vision development focused on "how we do things" rather than "why we do things". And so, the above statements were accepted as the de facto basis for all our efforts. Consider these as the heart and soul of all that was done to develop our vision. This is what we're all about.

At each of our church services on October 26, 2008, Eric Toner presented a summary of the task force's findings. He went over the ideas that underpin the task force findings. This presentation's images and words were transcribed to a single file found at the link below.

NOW FOR THE MEAT AND POTATOES . . .
Finally, the findings of the task force were summed up in a 20 page report. The purpose was to summarize the vision and to provide some of the underlying ideas behind it. Some will find it exhaustive. Others will find it short. But it is a small file to download . . .
